PLEASE NOTE!
Chapter 15.2, entitled “Opportunities to maximize Toronto Pearson’s capacity” states:
“The federal government is currently studying the need to provide for the required additional capacity in the Greater Golden Horseshoe region including the potential development of an airport on the Pickering Lands.”

home in the country

Our Mission is to stop further evictions and demolitions of homes and farms on over 18,000 acres of Federal land in north Pickering, Durham Region; and to establish long-term green alternatives in opposition to the GTAA's Pickering Airport proposal.

We represent not only the tenants of Transport Canada, who live on land expropriated in 1972 for a planned airport but also residents of the adjacent communities of Toronto, Markham, Pickering, Stouffville, Uxbridge, Cornell, Whitevale, Brougham, and Claremont etc; who will suffer if we don't act to prevent abusive uses of this land.

We propose developing and implementing new, sustainable, green technology uses of the land - a New Paradigm - while still maintaining its heritage and the pioneer spirit of exploration, which will offer benefits to those living on and around it and its ecosystems, now and in the future.

We have a golden opportunity for this and future generations: Fresh air to breathe, pure water to drink, locally grown nourishing food to eat and the opportunity to mingle with other forms of life in their natural habitat...
While developing the future, now!

"Everywhere, it seems, the lesson is sinking in; new airports are not
wanted, not needed, not allowed. Everywhere, that is, but in Canada.
Here, the pressure to revive the stricken airport began within days of
its suspension on September 25 1975, and continues unabated."
- Walter Stewart, Paper Juggernaut - Big Government Gone Mad
